Position >> Home>>Asia>>China>>China CCC introduction |
The abbreviation of China Compulsory Product Certification is CCC or 3C. It is the statutory compulsory safety certification system and the basic approach to safeguard the consumers' rights and interests and protect the personal and property safety, which is adopted widely by international organizations.
Compulsory Product Certification covers 135 products divided into 20 categories, including household appliances, motor vehicles, motorcycles, medical devices, lighting apparatus, Telecommunication Terminal Equipment, Information technology equipment, Audio and video equipment cables and wires...etc. CQC (China Quality Certification Center) is appointed to undertake the work of compulsory product certification for 17 categories within the CCC catalogue.
China CCC certification includes safety and EMC testing. CB test report and certificate can be used to obtain the safety test result. EMC testing is requires submission of normal working samples for testing.
Applicant applying for CCC Mark can be a national or foreign manufacturer directly, their authorized representative or a commercial agent authorized to act on behalf of the manufacturer. It is highly recommended that an agent familiar with the process be utilized for this process.
Factory inspection is required when applying for CCC certification after the CCC certificate is issued. Annual factory inspections are required. If the factory inspection can not be conducted or factory can not pass the inspection, the CCC certificate will be suspended by CQC.
The lead-time for CCC certification means the working days beginning from the acceptance of complete application/documentation thru the issuance of the certificates, which includes the time for type testing, factory inspection report submission after inspection, evaluation of certification results and approval of certificates etc. It takes about 60 working days to finish the process if the factory does not have a current CCC factory inspection. If the factory does have a current CCC inspection report for the same "type" of product the lead-time is 3 weeks. An additional 3 working days will be required for obtaining the permission to print CCC mark certificate. |
